A recipe my family grew up on that our mom made, simply ingredients and cooking. Great as a meal with sliced tomatoes or a side dish. **My mom would also slice bell peppers in half, remove seeds and rub a bit of oil on outside then mound this eggplant dressing inside, place stuffed bell pepper in 9 x 13 dish with a just enough water to cover bottom and bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes to be served as a side dish. ***You can also just cook your eggplant down with the seasonings S,P Garlic Powder,
This is my version if shrimp scampi. All my guest say it's as good or berrer than Carrabas ... For a large group serve it in a large bowl family style rather than making individual orders. I prefer the fresh frozen shrimp with the shells on rather than the frozen pealed and deviined, which have a preservative added taste. The recipe is for one serving you can bump it up -- posted by pickleme ...
This unconventional chili recipe has lots of vegetables instead of beans. It's super healthy and extremely flavorful. The butternut squash adds an unexpected sweetness to the chili's savory flavor. Add a pinch of cayenne if you want more heat. I made it for my boyfriend, who doesn't even like vegetables, and he loved it so much that he got seconds and thirds. -- posted by Garden Gate Kate ...
This is a wonderful pie recipe to use up all of those yummy and sweet summer peaches ... To make peeling easier dip peaches in boiling water for 30 seconds then plunge into sink or bowl of ice water ... Once cool, you will be able to just rub the skin off (this will only work on ripe peaches) ... If you top this with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream it will be heavenly. -- posted by Luby Luby Luby ...
This is one of the best dips we've ever had ... I got it from a friend at a party ... She said it was a Weight Watchers recipe, but I've found you can "do" or "undo" the weight watching part by using light sour cream or whatever ... either way, it's awesome!! -- posted by Chef #360239 ...
This is another recipe clipping that Mom collected. I am sure there is one here on Zaar, but I just want to put it here for safe keeping. These are all cut out of magazines and I have no idea which magazine or newspaper they came from. Some are even hand written. -- posted by Chef #940807 ...

A modified and healthified version of a coconut flour biscuit recipe I came across while trying to find something to satisfy my scone cravings ... They're not really scones, they're more like under-enthusiastic drop biscuits ... But MAN are they ever good ... I really don't like the taste of coconut ... but not being able to eat wheat I decided to give coconut flour a try, enticed by its high fiber content and relatively appealing nutritional value ... There is barely a hint of coconut in the
Originally from an Epicurious recipe from a resort in Arizona, we've lightened this recipe slightly, so it's not too thick in the mouth ... It also morphs into two excellent different possibilities: S'more's Creme Brulee (top chilled ramekins with either graham cracker crumbs, or round grahams to fit, and brulee miniature marshmallows), Aztec Creme Brulee (add cinnamon and cayenne to the cream) ... The original is amazing on its own, even without the brulee'd topping.Cooking time does not
Fresh summer fruit studs this delightful cake ... You may choose from blueberries, cherries (pitted), apricots, nectarines, peaches, plums (all sliced), or apples (sliced 1/4-inch thick) ... Prepare the batter, sprinkle with the fruit, and bake to have a satisfying warm dessert to end your meal ... Recipe came from a very old Sunset magazine ... Note that cooling time is not figured into the timing of the recipe. -- posted by Lorraine of AZ ...
