A chunky sweet and tart condiment/spread made with blueberries, figs, and cranberries. Spiced with onions, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, and rosemary. Chutneys are traditionally served with curried foods, but do try this on ham, chicken, roast pork, wild game or your Thanksgiving turkey. Also nice on meat and cheese platters. Mix some chutney with cream cheese for a nice spread on crackers. Mix with some oil for a quick marinade or glaze meats at the end of cooking. -- posted by ~Rita~ ...
Based on a recipe from The Wholesome Junk Food Cookbook by Laura Trice. She says of this recipe, “Some people prefer a crust that is rolled out. This crust is tender and uses different grains than our press-in crust.” -- posted by mersaydees ...
This unconventional chili recipe has lots of vegetables instead of beans. It's super healthy and extremely flavorful. The butternut squash adds an unexpected sweetness to the chili's savory flavor. Add a pinch of cayenne if you want more heat. I made it for my boyfriend, who doesn't even like vegetables, and he loved it so much that he got seconds and thirds. -- posted by Garden Gate Kate ...
A mixture of ground beef, dried coconut, and egg make the "crust" of this pie without the use of flour, butter, or breadcrumbs. The zucchini and tomato filling caramelize together while the ground beef browns to create a sweet, savory pie. Simple cut the pie into wedges and serve. This is a complete meal of protein and healthy veggies all in one baked dish. -- posted by Garden Gate Kate ...

Fresh summer fruit studs this delightful cake ... You may choose from blueberries, cherries (pitted), apricots, nectarines, peaches, plums (all sliced), or apples (sliced 1/4-inch thick) ... Prepare the batter, sprinkle with the fruit, and bake to have a satisfying warm dessert to end your meal ... Recipe came from a very old Sunset magazine ... Note that cooling time is not figured into the timing of the recipe. -- posted by Lorraine of AZ ...
This is my version if shrimp scampi. All my guest say it's as good or berrer than Carrabas ... For a large group serve it in a large bowl family style rather than making individual orders. I prefer the fresh frozen shrimp with the shells on rather than the frozen pealed and deviined, which have a preservative added taste. The recipe is for one serving you can bump it up -- posted by pickleme ...
Easy, quick and inexpensive; fairly healthy as long as you don't go overboard on the butter. I prefer Andy's fish fry, but Zatarain's plain works well also. -- posted by Chef #1275988 ...
Originally from an Epicurious recipe from a resort in Arizona, we've lightened this recipe slightly, so it's not too thick in the mouth ... It also morphs into two excellent different possibilities: S'more's Creme Brulee (top chilled ramekins with either graham cracker crumbs, or round grahams to fit, and brulee miniature marshmallows), Aztec Creme Brulee (add cinnamon and cayenne to the cream) ... The original is amazing on its own, even without the brulee'd topping.Cooking time does not
